Bio, Education and Work Experience
Tom graduated Frankfort Senior High School in 1996 and attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. While attending Purdue University, Tom was awarded the Krannert Dean’s Scholarship in 1996, was a member and vice president of the Krannert School of Management Council (1997-1998) and a winner of the Barbara G. Doster Positive Attitutude Award in 1999. Tom graduated in May 2000 from the Krannert Business School of Management with a Bachelor of Science degree and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 1, 2000 employed as an independent manufacturers representative for DALCO Sales & Engineering. Tom’s coverage territory increased as his sales experience grew and he moved to Chicago, Illinois, in September 2002 to cover the states of Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. In October 2007, Tom married his wife, Rena Little, and at the same time, took a position as the Central Region Sales Manager for Manhattan Wire Products with an increased territory which included fourteen states. Tom began to feel the calling to the law in 2008 and wanted to have an opportunity through his employment and life’s work to help others in his hometown of Frankfort, Indiana. Tom was accepted into and attended Valparaiso University School of Law in August, 2009 and graduated in December, 2011 with a Juris Doctorates degree. Tom subsequently was admitted into the Indiana Bar and both the Northern and Southern Districts of the State of Indiana on May 14, 2012.
Area of Practice
Since being admitted, Tom has served as the County Attorney for Clinton County from January 2, 2013 – present, and his practice areas include municipal law, criminal law, contract law, family law (divorce, paternity, custody, guardianships and adoptions), social security disability, federal bankruptcy law, personal injury, civil litigation/suits, foreclosure and eviction actions (both plaintiff and defendant).
Outside Activities and Hobbies
Tom is a member of the charitable and philanthropic organization, the Frankfort Jaycees (2009 – 2016), was the rookie of the year in 2009 and has served as vice president (2014), president (2015) chairman of the Anti-Rabies Clinic (2013 – present), co-chairman of the Abilities Services Halloween Party (2013 – present), Humane Society board member (2015-2019), Clinton County YMCA board member (2014-present, board vice-president 2017-2019, Chief Volunteer Officer (CVO) 2019-2021), Little Lakes Estates Corporation Board member (2015-present, vice president in 2017-2018, secretary 2018-2019) and is a member of the Clinton County Bar Association (2012-present) and President of the Clinton County Bar Association in 2015. Tom is also an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Tom’s hobbies include college and professional football (Indianapolis Colts, and all Purdue sports), all terrain vehicles, motorcycles, swimming, and being outdoors.
